At Import My Car Spain we offer a complete turn-key import service, leaving you to get on with your day to day life. Though we can handle as little or as much of the import process as you need. Whether your car requires specific mechanical or lighting modifications to comply with European standards, or you simply want someone to manage the extensive administrative paperwork with Spanish authorities (DGT and Hacienda), we take care of every detail. Our team oversees the entire technical procedure, including preparing and presenting your vehicle for its official import inspection and ITV (Inspección Técnica de Vehículos).
Beyond the initial registration, we provide complete, hassle-free ongoing support to ensure your vehicle remains fully compliant and running smoothly on Spanish roads:
En-Route & Door-to-Door Transport:
Safe, fully insured vehicle transport coordination to move your car to Spain from anywhere across Europe, or to transport it back to your home country whenever needed.
Temporary Registration (Green Plates):
Provision of temporary Spanish legal registration plates (placas verdes) so you can drive legally while your permanent registration process is being finalized.
Insurance Arrangements:
Assistance in securing competitive Spanish motor insurance tailored to foreign drivers and imported vehicles. We work with several national insurance companies and brokers and, importantly, we only work with those that speak CEFR Level C2 English as a minimum (other languages spoken too) meaning that any communication with them is easy both over the phone and in writing with your insurance docs available in English as well as Spanish. One less thing to worry about.
Proactive ITV & Service Tracking:
Spanish road safety rules require strict adherence to regular ITV inspection cycles, but keeping track of deadlines in a foreign language can be a hassle. We monitor your vehicle's legal calendar and contact you proactively whenever an inspection or routine service is coming due, ensuring you never have to worry about tracking dates or driving with expired documentation.
